| Beschreibung: |
This module offers a hands-on introduction either to the world of campus radio broadcasting and podcast production at HORADS 88.6, or to TV/video production at stufe (Studentenfernsehen). You'll need to choose between one of these two tracks! The course will introduce various forms of journalistic presentation (depending on the focus of the semester, e.g., university news, interviews, chat shows, and reportage). Participants will conceptualize, do research for, and implement cross-media news and reports. Upon completion of the module, students will be confident in dealing with the language of radio and video, with journalistic forms of presentation (news, interviews, reports, features, etc.) as well as with the planning, preparation and implementation of contributions, broadcasts/podcasts, video content, and online texts. |

| English Abstract: |
For partaking in the Media Production module, you'll need to choose between the Campus Radio and the Campus Television/Video production – pick one, it's either/or, you can't take both! * In the Campus Radio course with Prof. Zöllner, students learn the essential basics of producing live radio and podcast recordings for Stuttgart's student radio, HORADS 88.6 FM (HORADS is the acronym for "Hochschulradio Stuttgart). You'll be producing a weekly 60-minute show, "Lost in Germany" (focusing on expats' experiences abroad and intercultural communication), and a weekly 45-minute free-form/experimental format, "The Monday Lunch Club" which is basically a chat show on topics that are of interest to the wider student community. All of this in English, of course, and broadcast via HORADS 88.6 FM. * In the Campus Television course with Prof. Precht, students learn the essential basics of producing topical videos for HdM's student TV, stufe ("Studentenfernsehen"). You'll be producing various videos with Stuttgart- and/or student-oriented content, eventually released on the dedicated stufe YouTube channel. |
