


Information on enrolment
Please note that you must enrol by the deadline stated on the notification! As soon as your application has been submitted on time with the required documents, the fees have been paid and the electronic health insurance notification has been received, you will be enrolled.

Notes on enrolment / matriculation
If you would like to accept the study place, please accept the study offer and submit the application for enrolment and any other required documents within the deadline stated in the notification. You can only enrol electronically.
You can find the electronic application for enrolment and the other documents still required for enrolment in the application portal at https://bewerbung.hdm-stuttgart.de/. If you are already a student at Hochschule der Medien and have applied via the student portal, you can also find the application and the other documents in the student portal at https://selma.hdm-stuttgart.de/. To enrol, please complete the application for enrolment there.
Please upload the following documents electronically by the deadline for enrolment:
- Current passport photo (min. 102x135 pixels, aspect ratio: approx. 3:4)
- Electronic health insurance notification:
Please arrange for your health insurance company to electronically notify the Stuttgart Media University of Applied Sciences of your insurance status, quoting our company number H0002283. If you have private health insurance, please contact any statutory health insurance company. - Proof of payment of semester fees/tuition fees (copy of bank statement)
- Completed form on previous periods of study (download the form) - only if you were already enrolled at a college/university)
- Completed and signed declaration of honour (download the form)
- Signed rights agreement (download the form)
- Scan of your valid identity card/residence permit (simple, uncertified copy with clearly recognisable photo, surname, first name, date of birth and signature) for identification purposes
Once the documents for enrolment have been uploaded in full and on time, we will send you your student ID and enrolment certificates by post. If the documents required for enrolment are not received by the deadline, the letter of admission will become invalid.
Please note: Your enrolment documents must be complete for the documents (student ID, certificate of enrolment) to be sent to you.
Fees
For enrolment, the total amount stated in the "Fees" tab of the fee overview must be transferred by the specified enrolment deadline.
General fees:

15.00 Euro contribution to the constituted student body
Tuition fees for international students and for a second degree programme:
1,500.00 euros Tuition fees for international students

Explanation:
The legal basis for charging tuition fees is Section 3 (1) of the State Higher Education Fees Act (LHGebG). According to this, the university charges tuition fees for the state from students who are not citizens of a member state of the European Union or another state party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (international students) for its courses in undergraduate degree programmes and consecutive Master's degree programmes.
The legal basis for charging the second degree fee is Section 8 (1) of the State Higher Education Fees Act (LHGebG). According to this law, the university levies fees (second degree fee) on behalf of the state from students who commence or continue a second or further degree programme in an undergraduate degree programme (Bachelor's degree programme or degree programme in accordance with Section 34 (1) of the State Higher Education Act (LHG) or in a second or further consecutive Master's degree programme after obtaining a university degree or equivalent qualification in the Federal Republic of Germany (second degree programme).
Tuition fee for the Master's degree programmein Business Management:
The tuition fee for the Master's degree programme is EUR 2,970.00 per semester, plus semester fees per semester.
Tuition fee for the Master's degree programme in Data Science:
The tuition fee for the Master's degree programme is EUR 4,620.00 per semester, plus semester fees per semester.

Important: Enter the reason for payment as stated so that the incoming payment can be allocated correctly. Replace the "Personal ID" with your actual personal ID. You can find this in the SELMA application portal under the "Information" field ( i at the top right of the application portal).
Please note: It can take up to 10 days for the fees to be received by the university.
Electronic health insurance registration
People with statutory health insurance apply to their health insurance fund for electronic notification of their insurance status. If you have private health insurance, please contact any statutory health insurance company.
- Please inform your health insurance company that you will be studying at the Hochschule der Medien Stuttgart, stating our company number H0002283.
- Your health insurance company will notify Hochschule der Medien Stuttgart of your insurance status electronically.

Cancellation of enrolment and refund of fees
Information on this can be found here. The refund of the student union fee must be applied for at the Studierendenwerk Stuttgart (https://www.studierendenwerk-stuttgart.de/ueber-uns/organisation). Please note that the refund must be received by the Studierendenwerk Stuttgart by the end of the first month of the semester (31 March or 30 September) at the latest.
