Commissions
Commission for Good Scientific Practice
In accordance with Section 20 of the Statutes on the Safeguarding of Good Academic Practice, a commission has been established at the Hochschule der Medien to investigate allegations of academic misconduct. The commission comprises five professors. The members are appointed by the Rector on the recommendation of the Senate for a term of three years.
The commission currently comprises the following professors:

The Commission’s term of office runs until 31 August 2029.
Prof. Dr Sarah Spitzer chairs the Commission.
Prof. Dr Ansgar Gerlicher acts as the point of contact in the run-up to any official proceedings, in the role of ombudsman, with Prof. Dr Arnd Engeln as his deputy; and Prof. Roland Kiefer, with Prof. Dr Roland Schmitz as his deputy (Section 19 of the Statutes on the Safeguarding of Good Scientific Practice).
The ombudsmen’s term of office runs until 31 August 2027.
Ethics Committee
At the request of the project leaders, the Ethics Committee examines the ethical aspects of planned research projects involving human subjects and, where appropriate, issues an opinion and recommendations on the matter. The Statutes of the Ethics Committee of the Hochschule der Medien in Stuttgart govern the composition and duties of the Ethics Committee.
