Your start at the HdM

Getting started

1. Activate your HdM account

Set-up
First things first: set up your HdM account.
You will be given your username and will set your HdM password. You will need these details to log in to all HdM services, such as email, Moodle, etc.

Email account
You’ll receive important information about your studies via your HdM email address. You can access
your emails online via the OX web portal.

2. Setting up Wi-Fi

At the HdM, you are connected to the Wi-Fi via eduroam. To set this up, you will need your HdM email address and your HdM password.

The “geteduroam” app helps you set up the connection quickly and easily.

You can find instructions on how to set up eduroam here.

3. Student ID card 'HdMCard'

The HdMCard is your student ID card at the HdM and will be your companion throughout your daily life at university. You will receive the card from the Student Services Office once you have paid your semester fee, and you can then validate it at the service terminals.

It can also be used for making payments and photocopying, amongst other things.

4. Participation in the English placement test (OOPT)

The Oxford Online Placement Test (OOPT) is used to assess your current level of English at the start of your degree. The test is a compulsory, ungraded assessment for all undergraduate students and students on most Master’s programmes.
