


Master's programme application
Have you completed an undergraduate degree at the HdM or another university and would like to deepen your knowledge in one of our exciting Master's programmes? Then apply for a place on the programme for the next semester.
Applications for a full-time Master's degree programme are only possible during certain application periods:
Application period for the winter semester (start of studies in October):
Mid-May to 15 July
Application period for the summer semester (start of studies in March):
Mid-November to 15 January
Applications for part-time Master's degree programmes are possible during longer application periods. Further information can be found on the website of the Continuing Education Centre.
Application procedure
- First register on the HdM application portal. Once you have registered, you will receive an e-mail with your login details.
- Then log in to the application portal with your access data. Then complete all the relevant sections and upload the required documents.
- Finally, submit your application.
- In this case, please log in with your existing HdM access data at the following link: selma.hdm-stuttgart.de
- Click on the "New application" tile. Then complete all relevant sections and upload the required documents.
- Finally, submit your application.
- Please note that you can only apply for one Master's degree programme per semester.

- Please note that Your application can only be considered if all documents required for allocation have been uploaded to the application portal in full and on time by the application deadline (15 January / 15 July).
Apply via the application portal of the Hochschule der Medien and upload all required documents by the deadline.
You can find out about the status of your application directly in the application portal. The university only reviews all applications received for the full-time Master's degree programmes after the application deadline has passed. Applications for part-time Master's degree programmes are processed on an ongoing basis. If your application is successful, you will receive a letter of admission.
Please check your emails regularly and check the application portal regularly (preferably every 2 - 3 days) to check the status of your application.
With your letter of admission, you will receive all the information you need to successfully complete your enrolment. You must upload the documents required for enrolment and enrol in person at the Hochschule der Medien by a certain deadline - otherwise your place will be forfeited.

Allocation of study places for a Master's programme
Details on the admission and selection procedure for the individual Master's degree programmes at HdM can be found on the respective degree programme website.
The legal basis for the allocation of Master's places at the HdM is the "Statutes for the university's own selection procedure in the Master's degree programmes of the Hochschule der Medien".
