The part-time Master's degree programme in Data Science qualifies you to efficiently collect, process, analyse and model data in order to solve complex problems and support data-based decisions. You will acquire practical knowledge in data analysis, machine learning, artificial intelligence and big data and learn how to successfully implement complex data projects. The Advanced Business Analytics, Advanced Data Analytics or Applied Artificial Intelligence focus areas allow you to specialise in a targeted manner and develop your individual profile during your studies.
The part-time Master's degree programme Intra- und Entrepreneurship (tech) combines the expertise of Hochschule der Medien and the University of Stuttgart in the fields of high-tech, technology development and business start-ups. It provides comprehensive knowledge of corporate management and the planning, management and optimisation of technology-oriented start-up and innovation projects. The curriculum focusses on business and technology-related issues that are geared towards the special requirements of start-ups, but also affect established companies. The part-time Master's programme in Library and Information Management offers you a flexible, practical and well-founded qualification - perfect for future managers. The special feature of this degree programme is that you first take further education modules at Master's level from our contact study programme. As soon as you have gained at least 72 ECTS from these modules, you can apply for the part-time Master's degree programme and complete your studies with a Master's thesis after enrolment. In the part-time MBA Business Management with a specialisation in Corporate Communication, you will strengthen your leadership and communication skills. The part-time MBA in Business Management with a specialisation in Sustainability and Packaging Management combines a comprehensive management education with specific know-how in sustainable packaging and printing.
You will acquire the skills to develop innovative solutions and actively shape the digital and sustainable transformation in the packaging and printing industry - whether in project management, in management positions or at central interfaces. Flexible. Practical. Plannable.
Duration
The part-time Master's programme usually lasts two and a half years, fast-tracks and further flexibility (e.g. semesters off) are possible.
Contents
You study flexibly, practically and at the same time closely interlinked with your everyday working life. The study model combines a small number of on-campus attendance phases with virtual learning/project phases - ideal for working professionals.
Study structure
All modules consist of an 80% online project phase and 20% classroom teaching. The degree programme is characterised by a high degree of practical orientation with real projects and interactive learning in small groups, especially on the days of attendance.
Attendance dates
There are fewer than 10 attendance days per semester on the HdM campus. These will be determined as soon as possible for your planning.
Examination performance
The practical examination is to be taken at the end of the module.
Final thesis
In the final (fifth) semester, you will complete your Master's thesis with the support of a thesis coach.



The training centre
Stuttgart Media University (HdM) sees academic continuing education as a practical, future-orientated field of activity. It links science, business and society and offers a continuing education portfolio on key future topics such as innovation and entrepreneurship, digitalisation, management, sustainability, information and communication.
A modular system ranging from individual continuing education modules to compact certificate courses (CAS) and part-time Master's programmes enables specialists and managers to tailor their qualifications to suit different life and career paths.

Entry via a contact study programme
In addition to a part-time Master's programme, you can also continue your education flexibly in a contact study programme - whether with a single module or a certificate course. You can choose modules from our programme that suit your profile: part-time, practical and individual. The contact study programme is also ideal for trying out part-time study for the first time. It offers you the opportunity to take your first modules and later join the Master's programme (recognition).
