A successful start at the HdM is important to us. That's why we support new employees with a structured onboarding process. This includes a supervised induction by line managers, a Welcome Day, a welcome talk by HR Development and a tour of the building and campus. This allows you to get to know your colleagues and the HdM culture. Depending on your needs, onboarding can be supplemented by an individual work shadowing programme in individual departments of the university.
We have made it our mission to create better conditions for the compatibility of family and career. As a member of the "Familie in der Hochschule" association, we take caring and nursing periods into consideration. We offer you family-friendly working conditions and individual counselling from our own carer guides.
We cater to your needs and offer you flexibility through flexitime, part-time and mobile working. Depending on your field of activity, you can regularly work part of your working hours on a mobile basis in accordance with our service agreement and freely choose your working hours, taking into account the core working hours. Non-university-funded project staff can mainly work on a mobile basis.
We value your health and create a healthy work-life balance through flexible working time models, mobile working, professional development, training time and programmes for occupational health management and work-life balance. Our culture promotes mindfulness, personal responsibility and sustainable working.
Our occupational health management (OHM) organises a wide range of sporting and health-promoting activities in the preventive area every year. These include, for example, company sports, mobile massages, health days and leisure events for employees. The BGM also participates in overarching campaigns such as the city of Stuttgart's city cycling programme. Thanks to the voluntary commitment of the BGM team, the programme is continuously being developed and thrives on the commitment of our employees.
As a university of the state of Baden-Württemberg, we offer you a meaningful and future-proof job in the public sector - with collectively agreed pay in accordance with TV-L, regulated holiday entitlement and a transparent salary structure. We also offer attractive fringe benefits and an additional company pension through the Federal and State Pension Scheme (VBL). Employees covered by collective agreements receive an annual special payment, while civil servants receive a family allowance. Salary increases are based on a transparent pay system in line with your experience and the collective agreements negotiated with the trade unions.
Employees of the HdM benefit from discounted conditions for local public transport. We currently subsidise the JobTicket BW and the Deutschland-Ticket Jobticket with 25 euros per month. You can also use the JobBike BW - a company bike leasing programme with attractive conditions. The HdM is conveniently located in the Vaihingen district of Stuttgart. Whether by bus, train, bicycle or car - the campus is easy to reach. There are free car parks on site. Cyclists benefit from a bicycle repair station, free parking spaces and bicycle garages that can be rented at favourable rates. We also have charging stations for e-bikes, e-scooters and electric vehicles.
The "Universität" S-Bahn station with S-Bahn lines 1, 2 and 3 and the "Nobelstraße" and "Schranne" bus stops, which are served directly by several bus lines from Stuttgart and the surrounding area, are just a few minutes' walk away. The nearest motorway exit is also only a few minutes away and takes you directly to the A8 or A81.
