Deutsch-Chinesischer Studiengang Medien und Technologie

The Deutsch-Chinesische Studiengang Medien und Technologie is an internationally unique offering: the engineering-based degree programme takes place at the HdM and in Xi'an at the Technical University (TUX). It offers three specialisations: "Digital Media Technology", "Digital Publishing" and "Technisches Design von Verpackungssystemen" and concludes after seven semesters with a double degree from both universities. Depending on the specialisation chosen, the focus is on a different area of application.
While graduates of the "Digital Publishing" specialisation use digital processing chains to design print products and digital media and turn them into innovative products, graduates of the "Technisches Design von Verpackungssystemen" specialisation construct and design a wide variety of packaging. Graduates specialising in Digital Media Technology work in various areas of IT - both in the traditional software sector and in the development of computer games or software for mobile devices.

Your international Bachelor in Stuttgart & China
In the first semesters, you will learn the theoretical basics and the Chinese colloquial and technical language in order to be prepared for your subsequent studies in your host country. In Stuttgart, students acquire the scientific foundations in maths and computer science as well as in IT-based media technology and business subjects. They apply their knowledge in project work with the help of a wide range of state-of-the-art technical equipment at the HdM. Depending on the specialisation, you will acquire the specialist content taught in the specialisations together with students from the Print and Media Technology, Packaging Technology or Media Informatics degree programmes.
In China, you will spend a practical study phase in a media company and study at Xi'an University of Technology. In addition to language lessons, the German students attend the same lectures as their Chinese fellow students. Back in Stuttgart, they write their final thesis in the last semester. The programme concludes with a Bachelor of Engineering degree.

Sought-after bridge builders between German and Chinese industry
Graduates can look forward to excellent career prospects: The extensive economic relations between Germany and China ensure a constantly increasing demand for technically qualified engineers and managers who have experience with China, the Chinese language and the industries of both countries.
