If you would like to take on a management role in a library or information organisation, our part-time Master's programme will prepare you specifically for this. You will develop a broad set of skills in the areas of Culture & Education, Public Management and Information Systems. The programme combines an academic foundation with practical application and enables you to incorporate professional challenges directly into your studies.

Study à la carte
The special feature of this degree programme: you have the choice and determine your own pace and focus. You take modules from our contact study programme according to your interests, studying flexibly and at the same time closely interlinked with your everyday working life. You complete each module with an examination and receive credit points (ECTS). Once you have earned 72 ECTS, you can enrol on the part-time Master's programme and complete your studies with a Master's thesis. The mix of face-to-face and online seminars and self-study makes it easy to integrate the programme into your everyday working life.



Career opportunities
After graduating, a wide range of career paths in libraries and information centres will open up to you. As a graduate, you will take on management or interface positions and actively shape development processes, change projects and innovations. You will contribute to the strategic development of institutions and the future-orientation of their services. The Master's degree also opens up access to the higher civil service.
