Institute for Digital Ethics
Founded in 2014, the Institute for Digital Ethics (IDE), the only one of its kind in Germany, brings together specialist expertise through media ethics conferences (such as IDEepolis), publications (series published by Franz-Steiner and Nomos), research projects and teaching (META media ethics award) to form a centre of excellence. It serves as a forum for dialogue for intra- and interdisciplinary exchange between media science, media practice and media policy. The aim is also to sensitise the public to media ethics issues in the digital environment through events and to act as a central point of contact ("focal point") for media ethics expertise.
