The war in Ukraine, the COVID-19 pandemic and the rise of AI applications such as ChatGPT have had a major impact on the education sector. Despite advancing digitalisation, it has become clear how crucial face-to-face formats are for the development of learners of all ages.

Educational structures are facing major challenges: Organisations, didactics, the role of teachers and the design of physical and digital learning environments need to be adapted. These changes should be based on scientific findings. From schools and universities to libraries and museums, new learning environments and approaches are therefore being developed.
