IT is omnipresent these days and plays an important role in almost all areas of life. From smartphones and assistance systems in cars to digital media. With advancing digitalisation and the growing importance of multimedia applications, computer science is also becoming increasingly relevant for media professions. The degree programme trains specialists who are ideally prepared for this development.

Programme structure

In-depth IT knowledge with media-specific specialisations

The Medieninformatik  degree programme combines sound computer science knowledge with a wide range of media-specific specialisations. In the foundation programme, you will acquire information technology, mathematical and media-related fundamentals. The main study programme offers freedom of choice with specialisations in gaming, software development, artificial intelligence, computer animation, web applications or networks. Design and audiovisual media are also available. Practical projects, an internship semester, which is also possible abroad, and close contacts with industry strengthen the practical relevance of the programme. The degree programme concludes with a Bachelor of Science.

Career prospects

Jobs at the interface between IT and digital media

As a graduate, you will work at the interface between IT and digital media or take on traditional IT tasks in the information and media sector, for example in software houses, agencies or industrial companies. You will manage networks, develop software or work in media technology.
